NZ Cycleway Network Maps
Easy-to-understand maps of cycling networks and routes across cities in New Zealand.
These maps are designed to encourage people to ride and demonstrate that it’s a safe, convenient option to get where they want to go. The maps help to highlight what safe cycling infrastructure is available and shows people what routes are available and how they connect to each other. Places of interest along the routes are represented by friendly bubbles, creating a circuit board-like appearance where paths meet and intersect.
The design aesthetic evolved from a concept created in 2017 as part of the 7 Day Cartography Challenge. You can check out the rest of the maps I made over the 7 days here.
