Tahutahi / Cascade River
A LiDAR visualisation of the Tahutahi / Cascade River, located in the southern Westland District in New Zealand.
Using Digital Elevation Models (DEM) created from 3D LiDAR scans of the Earth’s surface, a Relative Elevation Model (REM) can be created to visualize river channels. These reflect the gradual slope of the river as it winds its way to the sea, highlighting existing and historical river channels inthe landscape. You can learn more about them here.
